Graduate Division Deadlines

A complete list of academic deadlines can be found in the Schedule of Classes Calendar on the Registrar's Academic Calendar page. Listed below are Graduate Division deadlines for Spring 2008.

Dates of Interest to Prospective Students
Varies	Admissions: Most departments and schools have deadlines in November and December for the following Fall term (nearly a year in advance). Be sure to consult Departmental Information for the specific deadline for your proposed major. Applications to some programs may be considered if received after a program's stated deadline, provided that the enrollment limitations have not been exceeded. Fellowships and other financial support depend on availability of funds.

April 15	Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) deadline for acceptance of an offer of admission and financial support (such as a graduate scholarship, fellowship, traineeship, or assistantship). In accord with the CGS Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees and Assistants, students are under no obligation to respond to offers of admission and financial support prior to April 15. Earlier deadlines for acceptance of such violate the intent of this Resolution. UCLA is a supporter of the Resolution and honors this deadline.

April 2	Institute of American Cultures Graduate & Predoctoral Fellowship Program in Ethnic Studies application deadline for the American Indian Studies Center and the Asian American Studies Center. April 11	TA Advance Loans. Last day to apply for a loan for this term. More information about TA Advance Loans is available in the Graduate Student Support for Continuing Students brochure.

April 16	Graduate Student Accomplishments: Last day to submit accomplishments for inclusion in the Spring 2008 Graduate Quarterly.

May 6	Last day to submit final drafts of dissertations to doctoral committee for degrees to be conferred in current term. For more information on dissertation filing policy view Policies and Procedures for Thesis and Dissertation Preparation and Filing.

May 18	Fee Deferral Payment Deadline: Last day for apprentice teaching and research appointees to pay fees for this term. More information about Fee Deferments is available in the Graduate Student Support for Continuing Students brochure.

May 20	Last day to submit final drafts of theses to master's committees for degrees to be conferred in current term. For more information on thesis filing policy view Policies and Procedures for Thesis and Dissertation Preparation and Filing.

June 2	Last day to file completed copies of master's theses and doctoral dissertations for degrees to be conferred in current term with the University Theses and Dissertations Adviser, 330 Powell Library. For more information on filing policy view Policies and Procedures for Thesis and Dissertation Preparation and Filing. Dissertations must be filed by this date for participation in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony.
