SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH COUNCIL (SSRC), EURASIA PROGRAM

Description   Pre- Dissertation Awards enable early stage graduate students to perform initial field assessments of up to 4 weeks for archival exploration, preliminary interviews, and other forms of feasibility studies related to their dissertations. Approximately 6 awards will be available. Dissertation Development Awards(DDAs) are available to support one academic year of dissertation development during the writing phase. Eurasia program covers Eastern Europe, the Russian Empire, and the Soviet Union and its Successor States.Approximately 10 awards for DDAs. 
Award Amount   Stipends up to $20,000 for Dissertation Development Awards. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences.  
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Fellows must be in the writing stage of their dissertation as this fellowship is designed to assist students in finishing their dissertations after the data collection phase is complete. Applicants must be scholars in a relevant field of the social sciences or humanities and at least a portion of their work must focus on Eurasia; cross-regional and comparative studies that include a portion of Eurasia are encouraged as well.
