NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH (NIH), INDIVIDUAL PREDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS TO PROMOTE DIVERSITY IN HEALTH-RELATED RESEARCH

Description   Fellowships for predoctoral training in the biomedical and behavioral sciences. Support is renewable for up to 5 years. NOTE: NIH also provides predoctoral support through institutional training grants. Contact your department for additional information. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $21,180 per year plus a small tuition and fees allowance. 
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Health Sciences. Fields related to biomedical and behavioral sciences. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Must be enrolled in a doctoral program. Fellowships are not made for study leading to a MD, DO, or similar professional degree. Applicants must have a sponsor who will supervise the research experience. Open to members of an underrepresented racial or ethnic group.
