| Description | Three fellowship programs are being offered to increase the number of minorities in the field of engineering and science. GEM's principle activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and PhD levels coupled with paid summer internships. Funding for the MS program is for one year and five years for the PhD program. | |

| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens. | |
| Requirements | Master's applicants: Must have at least a 2.80 GPA. Doctoral applicants: Must have at least a 3.00 GPA and a master's degree. All fellows must be of one of the following minority groups: American Indian, Black, Mexican American, Puerto Rican, or other Hispanic. | |
