1/2/2013 January 2, 2013 is the expected to begin review -- it is not a deadline. They will accept applications right up until the new Fellows are named. |

| Description | Up to four dissertation fellowships that run from September through May. Fellowship is meant for students from underrepresented groups and/or scholars with unique interest and histories, whose engagement in the Academy will enrich scholarship and teaching. Fellows are hosted at an appropriate department or program at Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College or Smith College and the University of Massachusetts. | |
| Award Amount | The one-year fellowship includes a stipend of $30,000, office space, library privileges and housing assistance. | |
| Disciplines | Open to all fields. | |
| Academic Level | Working on Doctoral Dissertation. | |
| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. | |
| Requirements | Minority graduate students who have completed all the requirements for a PhD except the dissertation. Each fellow will be hosted within a particular department or program at on one of the Five Colleges. | |
