GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SERVICE (DAAD), INTENSIVE LANGUAGE COURSES IN GERMANY

Description   Grants are offered to graduate students to attend 8-week intensive language courses at leading institutes in Germany. Extensive descriptions of the institutes, their teaching philosophies, course content, as well as course dates are available on the website of each institute: Goethe-Institute, S+W speak+write, did deutsch-institut, Carl-Duisburg-Centren, and INterDaF Leipzig.  
Award Amount   A stipend of €2,300($2,978) to cover tuition and fees, room and partial board plus a travel subsidy of €300-450 ($388-582). 
Disciplines   Open to all fields. Not open to these fields of study: German Studies, German Language and Literature & German Translation and Interpretation 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   U.S. citizens or residents. Also open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents. 
Requirements   Open to graduate students enrolled full time. Must have completed 3 semesters of college-level German at the time of application.
