THE SAN FRANCISCO FOUNDATION; JACKSON, PHELAN, TANENBAUM LITERARY AWARDS


Deadline   3/31/2013 
Description   Three literary awards are offered to encourage young writers of an unfinished manuscript and to support literary development. Awards are by nomination only. The Foundation identifies nominators who are established Bay Area literary artists.  
Award Amount   Stipends of $2,000. 
Disciplines   Open to all fields.  
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Only students applying for the Phelan award must have been born in the state of California.  
Requirements   Applicants must be between the ages of 20 and 35 by the application deadline. Applicants to the Jackson and Tanenbaum award must be residents of northern California or the state of Nevada for three consecutive years immediately prior to the contest deadline. Applicants to the Phelan award must have been born in the state of California but need not be current residents.
