SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION, MINORITY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM


Deadline   2/1/2013 
- deadline for summer and fall. 10/1/2013 - deadline for spring.
Description   Approximately 40 provide beginning graduate students the opportunity to learn about the Smithsonian through direct experience in research or museum-related projects under the supervision of staff members at the Institution's many museums, research institutes and offices. Internships are full-time (40 hours per week), ten week appointments available during the summer, fall, or spring. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $550 per week with additional travel allowances offered in some cases. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. Social Sciences. School of Public Health. animal behavior, ecology, anthropology, archaeology, earth sciences and paleobiology, evolutionary and systematic biology, history of science and technology, history of art, American crafts, folklife, and social & cultural history. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Must be currently enrolled in graduate study with an overall G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher.
