HEISER PROGRAM FOR RESEARCH IN LEPROSY AND TUBERCULOSIS POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS


Deadline   3/20/2013 
Description   To support biomedical scientists in early postdoctoral training for research in leprosy and/or tuberculosis. Awards for basic laboratory research directed at a better understanding of leprosy and its bacterial agent; it does not support treatment. Awards support two years of research. In 2013, the Heiser Program is only funding leprosy research and will not support postdoctoral fellowships in tuberculosis research.  
Award Amount   Stipend of $70,000 for two years, $35,000 per year.  
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Health Sciences. Open to biomedical sciences. 
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Applications for leprosy research grants should come from laboratories that have experience in leprosy research and have demonstrable ongoing, productive interactions with corresponding laboratories in endemic regions and/or leprosy field sites/workers.
