CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY (CSU), FORGIVABLE LOAN/DOCTORAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM

Description   The program provides financial assistance to doctoral students and is designed to increase the pool of individuals with qualifications, motivation, and skills to teach the diverse CSU student body. Program offers CSU faculty sponsorship.  
Award Amount   Provides a loan of $10,000 per year for up to a total of $30,000 within 5 years. Twenty percent of the loan is forgiven for each year of full-time teaching in the CSU. 
Disciplines   Open to all fields. Priority is given to the following areas: computer science, engineering, mathematics, and the natural sciences. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Open to students who are underrepresented in doctoral programs and who will be enrolled full-time at any U.S. university during the next academic year. Applicants are not required to enroll at a CSU campus.
