AMERICAN PHILOSOPHICAL SOCIETY, PHILLIPS FUND GRANTS FOR NORTH NATIVE AMERICAN RESEARCH


Deadline   3/1/2013 
Description   Grants for research in Native American linguistics, ethnohistory, and the history of studies of Native Americans, in the continental United States and Canada. Awards are for one year and are tenable in the U.S. and Canada. 
Award Amount   One year awards of $2,500 (up to $3,500) for research costs such as travel, tapes, films, etc. General maintenance is not provided. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences. Open to linguistics, ethnohistory, anthropology, and American Indian studies. 
Academic Level   Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Recipients of awards are expected to provide the American Philosophical Society Library with a brief formal report and copies of any tape recordings, transcriptions, microfilms, etc., acquired in the process of the grant-funded research. The materials will be made available to scholars using the Library’s collections.
