| Description | Approximately four awards for study leading to a master's or doctoral degree in oceanography, marine biology, or maritime archaeology. Students pursing a master's degree are supported for 2 years and those pursuing a doctoral degree are supported for 4 years. | |
| Award Amount | Stipends of $30,000 per year plus up to $12,000 for tuition and up to $10,000 for a four to six week research collaboration at a NOAA facility. | |
| Disciplines | Life Sciences. Social Sciences. Limited to oceanography, marine biology, and maritime archaeology. | |
| Academic Level | Prospective/Current Graduate Student. | |
| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens. | |
| Requirements | Must be accepted to an accredited institution in the U.S. and pursue study on a full-time basis. Women and minority students are particularly encouraged to apply. | |
