| Description | Two programs support research in India. Dissertation fellowships are available for 6 to 11 months and fellows must have an Indian research supervisor. Postdoctoral fellowships are available for up to 4 months or 6 to 9 months and fellows must be formally affiliated with an Indian institution. | |
| Award Amount | Competitive stipends and benefits are offered to all fellows. | |
| Disciplines | Open to all fields. Dissertation Fellowships: All fields. Postdoctoral Fellowships: All fields specializing in South Asian studies. | |

| Citizenship | U.S. citizens and residents. Also open to foreign nationals enrolled or teaching at American universities. | |
