ALEXANDER VON HUMBOLDT FOUNDATION, GERMAN CHANCELLOR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

  Deadline   10/31/2009 
  Description   Ten scholarships are awarded for a stay of one year in Germany for professional development, study, or research.  
  Award Amount   Monthly stipends range from 2150 to 2750 euros. Special allowances are available for visits by family members, travel expenses and German language instruction. 
  Disciplines   Open to all fields.  
  Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
  Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens.  
  Requirements   Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree prior to commencement of the scholarship. Applicants are expected to have established contact with a mentor in Germany who agrees to provide professional and/or scholarly assistance. Before beginning the program scholars are expected to make an earnest effort to acquire German language skills.
