NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION (NASA), HARRIETT G. JENKINS PREDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Description   The Harriett G. Jenkins Pre-doctoral Fellowship Program provides up to 20 fellowships yearly to full-time underrepresented graduate students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Students are selected for fellowships that include financial support and a 10-week, hands on research experience at a NASA Center or the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Fellowship offers financial support for up to 3 years. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $18,000 for Master's fellows and $24,000 for Ph.D. fellows. Additional support for tuition and travel up to $8,500. 
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. NASA-related science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens. Including residents of Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam. 
Requirements   Applicants must be a member of an underrepresented group in STEM, which includes women, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities.GApplicants must either be within the first 3 years of a graduate program at an accredited, U.S. university OR be in the process of applying to an accredited STEM graduate program. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. Once the fellowship is awarded, recipients cannot participate in any other federally funded fellowship or scholarship program.
