BURROUGHS WELLCOME FUND, CAREER AWARDS FOR MEDICAL SCIENTISTS

Deadline		9/1/2012 -Campus deadline, must be nominated by the UCLA Office of Contracts and Grants; 10/3/2012- deadline.
Description		At least 18 fellowships support postdoctoral researchers in the medical sciences. Designed to bridge advanced postdoctoral training and early years of faculty service. During the postdoctoral period, award recipients may train at institutions in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom.
Award Amount		The award provides salary, research and administrative support of $700,000 over five years.
Disciplines		Life Sciences. School of Engineering. Health Sciences. Specifically medically oriented behavioral science fields.
Academic Level		Postdoctoral Scholar.
Citizenship		U.S. citizens or residents. Also open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Requirements		Must hold a MD or PhD and have no more than 48 months of postdoctoral experience.
