| Description | Fellowships provide entering graduate students the opportunity to gain training and skills to pursue a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State. Award supports up to two years of full-time study. | |
| Award Amount | up to $40,000 per academic year for each of a two-year master's degree program to cover tuition costs, room and board, books, mandatory fees, and one round trip tickets. | |
| Disciplines | Humanities. Social Sciences. School of Management. School of Public Affairs. In particular: public policy, international affairs, public administration, or academic fields such as business, economics, political science, sociology, or foreign languages. | |

| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens. | |
| Requirements | Applicants must enroll in a two-year full-time master's degree program at a U.S. graduate institution. In addition, applicants must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.2 or higher and a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher must be maintained throughout participation in the program. Women, members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and students with financial need are encouraged to apply. | |
