| Description | The fellowship supports dissertation research in the British Isles on any topic of British (including Scottish, Irish and Imperial) history or British studies. The awardee must conduct full-time research in the British Isles for a period of at least six months. | |
| Award Amount | Maximum stipend of $8,000 for recipient and $3,000 for runner-up. | |
| Disciplines | Social Sciences. Open primarily to the field of British history or studies. | |
| Academic Level | Working on Doctoral Dissertation. | |
| Citizenship | Open to U.S. or Canadian citizens. | |
| Requirements | Must be enrolled in a PhD program in a United States or Canadian institution. At time of application, must have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation. Must be nominated by a department advisor. | |
