CHIANG CHING-KUO FOUNDATION FOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARLY EXCHANGE, DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS

Description   Up to 9 fellowships are awarded annually to support doctoral candidates in the writing of their dissertations. These grants are intended to provide support for research in the field of Chinese Studies in the humanities and social sciences.  
Award Amount   A grant of up to $15,000 for one year. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences. School of Public Affairs. Includes Chinese cultural heritage; classical studies (especially literary and historical works); the Republic of China (including any subject related to the Republic of China, its development and transformation since its establishment, through the Nanking Period, and up to the present); Taiwan area studies (including its history and archaeology as well as socioeconomic, political, and cultural aspects); and China-related comparative studies. 
Academic Level   Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Must be a doctoral candidate and should have completed all other requirements for the Ph.D. degree except the dissertation. In addition, eligible applicants should not be employed or receive grants from other sources.
