| Description | This award includes a basic science component and intensive research experience under the guidance of a qualified mentor. Open to scientists at all career levels. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to pursue a career in genomic research following completion of the award. Number of awards varies, depending on the availability of funds. Candidates may request 3 to 5 years of support. | |

| Requirements | Appointees must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree in a scientific discipline other than biology. In exceptional cases, individuals who do not have doctoral degrees may be eligible. Minorities, women and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to participate. | |
