NATIONAL HUMAN GENOME RESEARCH INSTITUTE (NHGRI), INDIVIDUAL MENTORED RESEARCH SCIENTIST DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

Description   This award includes a basic science component and intensive research experience under the guidance of a qualified mentor. Open to scientists at all career levels. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to pursue a career in genomic research following completion of the award. Number of awards varies, depending on the availability of funds. Candidates may request 3 to 5 years of support. 
Award Amount   Competitive stipends and benefits offered to all fellows. 
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. Health Sciences. Specifically fields related to genomic research and analysis. 
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. U.S. non-citizen nationals can also apply. 
Requirements   Appointees must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree in a scientific discipline other than biology. In exceptional cases, individuals who do not have doctoral degrees may be eligible. Minorities, women and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to participate.
