| Description | The program provides research awards at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for 10-52 weeks consecutively. ORNL conducts basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation's leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of clean, abundant energy; restore and protect the environment; and contribute to national security. | |
| Award Amount | Stipend of $525/week, one round trip between home/school and ORNL, and housing allowance of $125/week for those who live more 60 miles away from Oak Ridge. | |
| Disciplines | Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. School of Public Health. Be pursuing a degree or career in science, mathematics, engineering, technology, or related fields. | |
| Academic Level | Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation. | |
| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. | |
| Requirements | Must be at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in a master’s or Ph.D. program, have completed at least one term or be in the first term of a graduate program and have a GPA of at least 2.5. | |
