OAK RIDGE INSTITUTE FOR SCIENCE AND EDUCATION (ORISE), HIGHER EDUCATION RESEARCH EXPERIENCES AT OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY (ORNL) FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS

Description   The program provides research awards at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for 10-52 weeks consecutively. ORNL conducts basic and applied research and development to create scientific knowledge and technological solutions that strengthen the nation's leadership in key areas of science; increase the availability of clean, abundant energy; restore and protect the environment; and contribute to national security.  
Award Amount   Stipend of $525/week, one round trip between home/school and ORNL, and housing allowance of $125/week for those who live more 60 miles away from Oak Ridge.  
Disciplines   Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. School of Public Health. Be pursuing a degree or career in science, mathematics, engineering, technology, or related fields. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Must be at least 18 years old, currently enrolled in a master’s or Ph.D. program, have completed at least one term or be in the first term of a graduate program and have a GPA of at least 2.5.
