AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR MICROBIOLOGY (ASM), NATIONAL CENTER FOR INFECTIOUS DISEASES (NCID), PROGRAM IN INFECTIOUS DISEASE AND PUBLIC HEALTH MICROBIOLOGY


Deadline   1/15/2013 
Description   Up to 10 fellowships are awarded annually for a maximum of 2 years at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)national laboratories. The program supports the development of new approaches, methodologies and knowledge in infectious disease prevention and control in areas within the public health mission of the CDC. Two-year fellowship to conduct research in infectious disease or public health microbiology  
Award Amount   An annual stipend of up to $46,106, plus health benefits up to $3,000 annually, relocation benefits up to $500 and professional development up to $2,000. 
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. Health Sciences. School of Public Health. Including bacterial and mycotic diseases, viral and rickettsial infections, nosocomial infections, HIV/AIDS, vector-borne infectious diseases, sexually transmitted diseases, and parasitic diseases.  
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Must have earned a doctorate degree or completed a primary residency within three years of proposed start date. Applicants may not have a faculty position or be enrolled in a graduate degree program during the fellowship.
