FIGHT FOR SIGHT POST-DOCTORAL AWARDS

Description		Post-doctoral Research Fellowships support individuals with a doctorate (MD, PhD, DVM, OD) interested in academic careers involving basic or clinical research in ophthalmology, vision, or related sciences. Clinical research fellows are required to spend at least 50 percent of their time on their research project, while basic researchers are expected to devote full-time. One-year Post-doctoral Research fellowships should commence between July 1 and September 1. A shorter tenure will be considered for some instances.
Award Amount		Stipend of $20,000.
Disciplines		Health Sciences. Areas of particular interest to FFS include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, genetic eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, amblyopia, strabismus, AIDS-related eye disorders, cataract and uveal and corneal inflammation.
Academic Level		Postdoctoral Scholar.
Citizenship		No citizenship requirements.
Requirements		Should be affiliated with a North American institution for their research.
