| Description | Annual awards support research training in mental health for doctoral-level social work students intending to pursue NIMH–recognized research careers. The award is for one academic year, but support may be provided for up to 3 years. Renewal is contingent on the availability of funds to continue the program. | |

| Requirements | Must have a master's degree in social work and will begin full-time study leading to a doctoral degree in social work, or currently enrolled as a full time student in a doctoral social work program. Eligible applicants must be American Indian/Alaskan Native; Asian/Pacific Islander (e.g., Chinese, East Indian and other South Asians, Filipino, Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Samoan); Black; and Hispanic (e.g., Mexican/Chicano, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central or South American). | |
