THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL HISTORICAL SOCIETY, CAPITOL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM


Deadline   3/15/2013 
Description   One fellowship is awarded annually to help educate the public on the history of the Capitol building and Congress. Research should be directly related to some elements of art or architecture within the buildings of the United States Capitol, the congressional offices, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Botanic Garden. Depending upon the scope of the proposal, the fellowship may be requested for a minimum of one month and maximum of one year.  
Award Amount   A stipend of $2500 per month, up to a maximum of $30,000 for a full year. 
Disciplines   Humanities. School of Arts and Architecture. Including art or architectural history, American history, and American studies. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Master's Thesis. Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Research must involve the resources of the Architect of the Capitol, including the architectural drawings, manuscripts, and reference collections, or material on the Capitol in the Library of Congress.
