AMERICAN SOCIETY FOR MICROBIOLOGY (ASM), ROBERT D. WATKINS GRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP


Deadline   5/1/2013 
Description   One or more three-year fellowships are awarded to historically excluded or underrepresented students conducting dissertation research in the microbiological sciences. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $21,000 per year. 
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Health Sciences. Including bacteriology, virology, mycology, protozoology, immunology, biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, and genetics. 
Academic Level   Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Must have completed the first year of a doctoral program in the microbiological sciences in an accredited United States institution. Must be a member of an underrepresented minority group (African American, Hispanic American, Native American or Native Pacific Islander) in the sciences. Student and mentor must be members of ASM.
