AMERICAN SCHOOLS OF ORIENTAL RESEARCH (ASOR), ALBRIGHT INSTITUTE OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS (JERUSALEM)

Description   Five fellowship programs. Annual Professorship:$15,000 award for 4.5 months and NEH Fellowships:$37,800 for 9 months and $18,900 for 4.5 months, both for post-doctoral U.S. citizens. Barton Fellowship and Ernest S. Frerichs Fellowship: 2 and 9 months research awards of $5,000 and $11,500 respectively for students enrolled in doctoral programs and postdoctoral scholars. ECA Junior Research Fellowships: 4.5-9 month research fellowship of $48,000 for pre-doctoral and postdoctoral students in Near Eastern Studies. Awards include room and half-board at the Albright Institute. 
Award Amount   Stipends vary by program - see description. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences. School of Arts and Architecture. Specifically fields related to Near Eastern studies, including literature, art history, religion, archaeology, anthropology, biblical studies, geography, history, architecture, classics, and related interdisciplinary fields. 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Working on Doctoral Dissertation. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Annual Professorship, Ernest S. Frerichs and Barton Fellowships: No citizenship requirements. Kress, NEH, and ECA Fellowships: U.S. citizens only. 
Requirements   Postdoctoral scholars applying for the Barton Fellowship must have received the PhD within the last 5 years.
