| Description | Fellows are selected to serve as project assistants in Washington D.C. for six to nine months with nonprofit, public-interest organizations addressing peace and security issues. Candidates with a strong interest in these issues who have prior experience with public-interest activism or advocacy are preferred. | |
| Award Amount | Award provides a stipend of $2,600 per month, health insurance, and travel expenses to Washington D.C. Plus $1,000 per fellow for professional development. | |
| Disciplines | Social Sciences. School of Public Health. Preferably fields related to peace and security issues. Such as: Arms Control/Disarmament, including Nuclear Test Ban, Ballistic Missile Proliferation/Defense, Conventional Arms Transfers, Weapons Proliferation–Nuclear, Biological and Chemical, Conflict Prevention/Resolution, Defense Budget, Dismantling Chemical and Nuclear Weapons in the former Soviet Union, Environmental and Energy Security, including the Nexus of Climate Change and Energy Use, Conflict, and Resource Scarcity Environmental Impact/Cleanup of Nuclear Weapons Production Complex, Export Controls, International Security, Regional/Ethnic Conflicts, including East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, United Nations, including UN Peacekeeping | |
| Academic Level | Prospective/Current Graduate Student. | |
| Citizenship | No citizenship requirements. Preference is given to U.S. citizens, although foreign nationals residing in the U.S. are funded periodically. | |
| Requirements | Must have a B.A. and have demonstrated excellent academic accomplishments and a strong interest in issues of peace and security. | |
