GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SERVICE (DAAD), STUDY SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FINE ARTS, ARCHITECTURE, MUSIC, DANCE

Description   Study Scholarships for Fine Arts, Architecture, Film Music and Dance are awarded to qualified students in these fields to provide the opportunity to complete a program of additional studies, with or without earning a formal degree, from a German institute of higher education. 
Award Amount   Monthly stipend of €750. In addition, DAAD will pay for health insurance and offer a flat rate subsidy for travel costs. 
Disciplines   School of Arts and Architecture. Fine Arts, Architecture, Music, Dance 
Academic Level   Prospective/Current Graduate Student. Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Applicants should be US or Canadian citizens. Foreign nationals must have studied at an accredited US or Canadian university for at least two years by time of application. 
Requirements   Graduating seniors or graduate students applying must be enrolled full-time in an accredited university. PhD candidates must have achieved ABD status no longer than four years before applying. Postdocs may apply until two years after completion of their PhD. Applicants must not have been a resident in Germany for more than one year at the time of application. Should have a well-defined study project that makes a stay in Germany essential. Should have a good command of German. Must not hold a DAAD grant and a grant from another German/German-American organization/German-Canadian organization concurrently for the same project. Prior recipients of a DAAD grant should contact DAAD New York before applying to determine their eligibility status. Complete applications (an original and 5 copies) must be submitted to 1252 Murphy Hall, no later than the campus deadline. There are no extensions to this deadline.
