A.P. GIANNINI FOUNDATION, POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM IN CALIFORNIA

Description   The A.P. Giannini Foundation invites promising young doctoral investigators in the early stage of their careers (with 0-3 years of postdoctoral experience) to apply for the 2013 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program. This fellowship supports innovative research in the basic sciences and applied fields and trains fellows to become established investigators. The research should advance the translation of biomedical science into treatments, preventions and cures for human diseases. 
Award Amount   Stipend of $43,000 in year 1, $44,000 in year 2, and $46,000 in year 3 plus one-time award of $2,000 for relocation expenses.  
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Health Sciences.  
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.  
Requirements   Must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree before activating the fellowship. Must have no more than 0-3 years of postdoctoral research experience. Must arrange sponsorship at one of California's accredited medical schools before applying.
