| Description | One award offered for dissertation research on any topic within African and/or African Diaspora studies. The successful applicant will have full access to Boston College’s seven libraries as well as several rare books and manuscripts collections. Awards support one year of research. | |
| Award Amount | Stipend of $30,060 plus health insurance and a $1,500 research budget. | |

| Requirements | Applicants must complete all requirements for the PhD, aside from the dissertation, by the start of the fellowship year. The fellow must remain in residence for the 9-month academic year, deliver one public lecture, and teach one seminar course. Applications from women, individuals with disabilities, and covered veteran are strongly encouraged. | |
