| Description | The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE NNSA SSGF) program provides excellent financial benefits and professional development opportunities to students pursuing a PhD in fields of study that solve complex science and engineering problems critical to stewardship science. Renewable up to four years. | |
| Award Amount | $36,000 stipend plus tuition; $1,000 yearly academic allowance to be used for research or professional development expenses. | |
| Disciplines | Physical Sciences. Open to senior undergraduate students and first- and second-year PhD students focusing their studies on high energy density physics, nuclear science, or properties of materials under extreme conditions and hydrodynamics. | |
| Academic Level | Prospective/Current Graduate Student. | |
| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. | |
| Requirements | The summer should be spent conducting full-time research related to the completion of one's degree, enrolled in classes or on a practicum assignment at one of the DOE NNSA laboratories. Each Fellow's department must waive any teaching requirements beyond one term. | |
