FIRST LOOK WEST (FLoW) NATIONAL UNIVERSITY CLEAN ENERGY BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Description   First Look West (FLoW) invites student teams throughout the Western U.S. to participate in the Department of Energy’s first ever business plan competition for clean energy. FLoW offers prize money as well as mentoring programs, legal start-up packages, and the opportunity to pitch to investors who can help student entrepreneurs transform innovative ideas into commercial reality.  
Award Amount   Award of $200,000 for winning team along with mentoring programs, legal start-up packages and the opportunity to pitch to investors who transform innovative ideas into commercial reality.  
Disciplines   Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. School of Engineering. School of Law.  
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
Requirements   Students must be studying at accredited US Universities. Student teams should be developing commercially attractive energy technologies at an early stage or, be in the seed or start-up phase, and needing mentoring support to rise to the next phase of development. The business plan must develop a technology that will have a demonstrable impact in the way energy is generated, distributed, converted or consumed.
