FORD FOUNDATION DISSERTATION FELLOWSHIPS

Description   Thirty-five one year predoctoral fellowships for students working to complete a dissertation leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc.D.). 
Award Amount   Stipends of $21,000 and expenses paid to attend one Conference of Ford Fellows 
Disciplines   Humanities. Life Sciences. Physical Sciences. Social Sciences. School of Engineering. School of Public Affairs. American studies, anthropology, archaeology, art and theater history, astronomy, chemistry, communications, computer science, earth sciences, economics, education, engineering, ethic studies, ethnomusicology, geography, history, international relations, language, life sciences, linguistics, literature, mathematics, performance study, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology, religion, sociology, urban planning, and women’s studies 
Academic Level   Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens. U.S. Nationals are also eligible. 
Requirements   Individuals who have earned a doctoral degree are ineligible. Membership in one or more of the following under-represented groups will be considered a positive factor: Alaska Natives (Aleut, Eskimo), Black/African-Americans, Mexican American/Chicanas/Chicanos, Native American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders (Hawaiian/Polynesian/Micronesian), Puerto Ricans.
