| Description | Fifteen to eighteen young Americans are offered the opportunity to live and work in Asia to increase the awareness of Asia among future leaders in American society. Must be nominated by UCLA. | |
| Award Amount | Awards provide travel, medical insurance, and living expenses. | |
| Disciplines | Open to all fields. Except Asian Studies. | |
| Academic Level | Prospective/Current Graduate Student. | |
| Citizenship | Open only to U.S. citizens. | |
| Requirements | Upper age limit is 30 by July 1st of program year. Knowledge of an Asian language is not necessary. Must hold a BA degree. Asian specialists and persons with significant exposure to Asian culture are not eligible. Must complete a preliminary application form which can be obtained at 1252 Murphy Hall. | |
