AMERICAN ACADEMY IN BERLIN FELLOWSHIPS, BERLIN PRIZE


Deadline   9/28/2012 
Description   Fellowship program invites individuals to engage in independent study in Berlin for one academic semester or year. Approximately 24 fellowships are offered each year in areas such as history, political science, literature, economics, German studies, art history, musicology, anthropology, law, and linguistics, as well as to writers, composers, and visual artists.  
Award Amount   Stipends of $5,000 per month of residency. The award also provides roundtrip airfare and a generous apartment with partial board at the Hans Arnhold Center. 
Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences. School of Arts and Architecture. School of Management. School of Public Affairs. School of Theater, Film, & TV. School of Law.  
Academic Level   Postdoctoral Scholar.  
Citizenship   Open only to U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Fellowships are restricted to candidates who are based permanently in the US (US citizenship is not required and American expatriates are not eligible). 
Requirements   They must have completed their doctorate or equivalent professional degree. Candidates need not work on German topics, but their project descriptions should explain how a residency in Berlin will contribute to further professional development.
