JAPAN FOUNDATION DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP

  Deadline   9/2/2009 
- U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  Description   Approximately 10 Doctoral Fellowships for periods ranging from 4 to 12 months are available for doctoral candidates to conduct research in Japan.  
  Award Amount   Includes a monthly allowance of ¥310,000, travel and research expenses, settling-in and dependent allowance, and insurance. 
  Disciplines   Humanities. Social Sciences.  
  Academic Level   Working on Doctoral Dissertation.  
  Citizenship   No citizenship requirements.  
  Requirements   Must have completed all work for the PhD except dissertation. Sufficient proficiency in Japanese to pursue research. Students with letters of affiliation are given priority. Projects must be related in substantial part to Japan.
