| Description | Approximately 10 Doctoral Fellowships for periods ranging from 4 to 12 months are available for doctoral candidates to conduct research in Japan. | ||
| Award Amount | Includes a monthly allowance of ¥310,000, travel and research expenses, settling-in and dependent allowance, and insurance. | ||
| Disciplines | Humanities. Social Sciences. | ||
| Academic Level | Working on Doctoral Dissertation. | ||
| Citizenship | No citizenship requirements. | ||
| Requirements | Must have completed all work for the PhD except dissertation. Sufficient proficiency in Japanese to pursue research. Students with letters of affiliation are given priority. Projects must be related in substantial part to Japan. | ||
