Fulbright Information Sessions

If you are interested in traveling abroad for study or research in 2010-2011, plan to attend a Fulbright information session. There are two Fulbright programs available. One is for all graduating seniors and graduate students administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE). The other is for doctoral candidates to conduct dissertation research, administered by the U.S. Department of Education (USEd).

Basic Requirements

Fulbright IIE applicants: be a U.S. citizen, hold a BA degree or equivalent before the award begins, and have proficiency in the language of the host country.

Fulbright-Hays USEd applicants: be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be advanced to doctoral candidacy before your award begins, be studying a modern language or area studies, and be proficient in the language(s) necessary to carry out your research.

Fulbright-Hays USEd Applicants

Interested applicants should contact the Fulbright Campus Coordinator for inclusion in the applicant list for the 2010-2011 cycle.

Some important dates to remember for the Fulbright-Hays USEd.

  • Campus Application Deadline: November 2, 2009
  • Campus Review Feedback available: November 18, 2009
  • Campus Deadline for Revisions: November 24, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.
  • National Deadline: December 1, 2009

Information Sessions On Campus

Each information session will provide information on successful approaches and application procedures. In addition, UCLA graduate students who are veteran Fulbrighters will give their perspectives on how to develop a winning proposal. Graduate Division staff member will discuss the application process.
