How many copies of my GSRM application do I need to submit?

You need to submit an original and 2 complete copies of your application.

Can I submit my application before the deadline?

Yes. We encourage you to submit your complete application as soon as possible. You can bring your complete application to 1252 Murphy Hall.

Can I submit a Degree Progress Report or an URSA report instead of an unofficial transcript?

No. You must submit an unofficial transcript. You can obtain an unofficial transcript, at no cost, from the Registrar’s Office in 1113 Murphy Hall, 310-825-1091 ext 6.

I am an international student. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

No. GSRM applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

I was awarded a GSRM last year. Can I apply for the GSRM Program again this year?

If you are still eligible you can apply. However, preference is given to students who have not received a GSRM award.

Can I apply for the GSRM Program and the academic year GRM Program?

If you are eligible you can apply for both.

Do you grant extensions to the GSRM application deadline?

No extensions are granted to the GSRM application deadline.

Can my faculty mentor submit a letter of recommendation after the GSRM Program deadline?

Contact your faculty mentor as soon as possible. Your complete GSRM application, including the letter of recommendation, is due on the stated deadline. Letters of recommendation cannot be submitted after the deadline.

Can GSRM awardees also work during the summer?

GSRM awardees can work 25% time (10 hours per week).

I am Advanced to Candidacy. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

No. GSRM applicants cannot be ATC.

I am activating Chancellor’s Prize summer funding. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

Students activating Chancellor’s Prize summer funding are not eligible for the GSRM Program.

I am activating UC DIGSSS summer funding. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

Students activating UC DIGSSS summer funding are not eligible for the GSRM Program.

Are students in the Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering & Applied Sciences eligible for the GSRM Program?

No.

Are students in Law, Dentistry and Medicine eligible for the GSRM Program?

No.

I am a graduate student at another UC campus. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

The GSRM Program is for UCLA PhD students only.

I am a graduate student at another university. Can I apply for the GSRM Program?

The GSRM Program is for UCLA PhD students only.
