Of the 1,089 registered UCLA postdoctoral scholars, 15 were chosen as members of a select group of nominees for the Chancellor’s Award for Postdoctoral Research. The nominees represent virtually every discipline at UCLA, from the basic and applied sciences to the professional schools, the social sciences, and the humanities: Stavroula Baritaki (Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics); Jesse L. Clark (Medicine); Jerome Darbon (Mathematics); Stevan Dubljevic (Medicine); Dan Ehninger (Neurobiology, Psychiatry, and Psychology); Pierre Ganty (Computer Science); Shishan Hu (Environmental Health Sciences); Quan Lin (Molecular and Medical Pharmacology); Eileen Lueders (Neurology); Cisco Sanchez (Human Genetics, Pediatrics and Urology); Sungkyu Seo (Electrical Engineering); Richard B. Slatcher (Psychology); Rupa Sridharan (Biological Chemistry); Andreas Stengel (Medicine); Dan Ohtan Wang (Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences). Five of the 15 nominees were selected to receive the Chancellor’s Award for Postdoctoral Research -- a $4,000 prize -- for their research accomplishments that show clear potential to have meaningful and enduring implications in their field. The award and reception were co-hosted and funded by the Office of the Chancellor, the Graduate Division, The Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, UCLA College of Letters & Science and the Office of Research.
