Each associate dean works for designated campus sectors. This is intended to encourage the development of more in-depth knowledge of issues and challenges facing graduate education in the different areas of our campus.

Additionally, each Associate Dean is given primary responsibility over selected functional areas. Ross Shideler has responsibility for graduate student housing, Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars, and serves as the liaison to the Graduate Council Committee on Degree Programs. Carlos Grijalve has major responsibility for fellowships, outreach and diversity issues, and serves as the liaison to the Graduate Council Committee on on Fellowships and Assistantships. Robin Garrell has reponsibilty for academic program review, training grants, and Visiting Student policy.
