Required Academic Records |
|
All applicants are required to submit to the major department official records from each academic institution attended. Official records are defined as original documents issued by the institution which bear the actual signature of the Registrar -- not a photocopy -- and the seal of the issuing institution. Do not, however, send the original of an academic record which cannot be replaced; obtain a properly certified copy instead. If you have attended more than one institution, separate official records should be submitted by each institution. International Requirements All official academic records must show the dates of enrollment; the subjects or courses taken, together with the units of credit or time allotted to each subject and, if rank is determined, rank in the total class or group. The records must also include a complete description of the institution's grading scale or other standard of evaluation. Maximum and minimum marks and the steps between them must be indicated. Unless academic records and diplomas are routinely issued in English by the institution, the official records in their original language must be submitted with an authorized, complete, and exact English translation. Evidence of conferral of all degrees, diplomas, or professional titles must be submitted to the major department. This evidence may be in the form of officially certified copies of the actual diploma, or entries on official records or official statements from granting institutions. In all cases, the statement must include the exact, original title of the degree and the date of its formal conferral (month and year). Certificates of completion of required courses, or of degree examinations, cannot be accepted as evidence that the degree was granted. Students applying from countries where "Excellent, Very Good, Good, Pass" marks are given on examinations must present an academic record with at least a "Very Good" general rating. International students who hold three-year ordinary pass degrees, or who hold professional diplomas in accounting, business, librarianship, social work, physical education, health education and so on, or four-year degrees, diplomas or higher certificates from technical, vocational or postsecondary specialized schools are not eligible for graduate admission. Applicants holding membership in professional associations such as Institutes of Chartered Accountants or Institutes of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators are not qualified for graduate standing unless they also hold recognized university-level degrees or titles. Applicants who have studied in the following countries or educational systems should take note of the requirements listed for each country or educational system.
