UCLA Graduate Division

(UC) Intercampus Exchange Program

The UC Intercampus Exchange Program is for graduate students who seek contact with distinguished faculty, scholars, fields of study, and resources not available on her or his home campus.

Eligibility

  1. Complete at least one quarter of study prior to beginning the exchange.
  2. Have agrade-point average of 3.0 or above.
  3. Be in a state-supported program, not a special-fee or self-supported program.
  4. Unless specifically restricted, fellowship recipients may participate.

Application Instructions

Please note, each application is reviewed by both the home campus department and the home campus Graduate Division/Graduate Studies Office as well as the host campus department and the host campus Graduate Division /Graduate Studies Office. All parties must agree to the request in order for the application to be approved.

Submit the application form to your home campus Graduate Division/Graduate Studies Office at least four weeks before the school term begins.

UCLA students should email the completed application to academicservices@grad.ucla.edu. Students at other UC campuses should consult with their Graduate Division/Graduate Studies Office.

Following the submission and approval of the application, the home campus’s Graduate Division/Graduate Studies Office will forward your information to the host campus’s equivalent office for review and approval.

Separate applications are required for each term.

If you choose to not enroll in the Intercampus Exchange Program after submitting an application, you must notify both the home and host campus to cancel the application.

Registration and Fees

You must register and pay fees at your home campus to have library, health services, and other student privileges on the host campus. Penalty fees for late enrollment may apply.

Exchange students are considered graduate students in residence on the home campus and are not formally admitted to the host graduate school and department. They may not have the same privileges as students enrolled in the host campus’s program.

Health Insurance

For more information about using health insurance away from your home campus contact the University Health Services unit at your home campus.

Grades

Grades are sent to the home campus and will appear on your academic record. Make sure your name appears on the course roster so that your participation can be verified.
