All recipients of fellowship awards and traineeships are required to sign up for Bruin Direct to have their stipends deposited directly into personal bank accounts. Recipients of monthly stipends who have NOT signed up for Bruin Direct will likely experience a delay of several days in receiving their checks. Monthly checks for those who have not signed up for Bruin Direct will be mailed to the recipient’s local address, even if it’s a foreign or out-of-state address, and will not necessarily be mailed before the first of the month. Those who have chosen the “Hold for Pickup” option may also experience a delay in receiving their checks. Only the initial check will be held for pickup; all subsequent checks will automatically be mailed to the recipient’s local address. Fellowship recipients who have not yet signed up for Bruin Direct should do so as soon as possible. Bruin Direct Authorization Forms may be printed from the link below or obtained from the Graduate Student Support Office at 1228 Murphy Hall. Forms are also available in the Administrative Main Cashier's Office and the Student Accounting Office. The Bruin Direct Authorization Form, along with a canceled check or savings deposit slip, should be submitted to the Main Cashier Office located in 1125 Murphy Hall.
