Finding a Mentor for a Visiting Graduate Researcher Appointment at UCLA

Thank you for considering UCLA for your scholarly work. Visiting Graduate Researchers (VGRs) are sponsored by UCLA faculty who are members of the Academic Senate (i.e., eligible to mentor doctoral students). Correspondence regarding any potential openings should be directed to the faculty member with whom you would like to work. The faculty member and the UCLA department are responsible for (1) determining if they are interested and able to host your visit; (2) inviting you to apply for VGR status, and (3) facilitating the appointment.

UCLA department webpages and the UCLA Faculty Research Interests Database provide summaries of faculty research interests, areas of expertise, examples of their work, contact information, and links to faculty web pages. These are excellent resources for locating potential mentors or advisors.
