Graduate and Predoctoral Fellowship in Ethnic Studies

Current UCLA students with a demonstrated interest in ethnic studies are eligible to apply for graduate/predoctoral fellowships to aid in completion of a thesis or dissertation. The fellowship consists of a $18,500 maximum stipend and all in-state fees. Restrictions apply regarding acceptance of supplemental employment and/or other awards during the fellowship year. On occasion, Centers have chosen to divide the graduate fellowship between two or among three students.

Awards are for one academic year.

Eligibility

Open to students with a demonstrated interest in African American, American Indian, Asian American, or Chicana/o studies. Application for the fellowship in African American Studies is open only to doctoral students who will have advanced to candidacy by the beginning of the fellowship year.

Deadline

Applications are available in October, due by January 11 for African American and Chicana/o Studies and April 2 for American Indian and Asian American Studies.
